Toyota Land Cruiser Ambulance
This ambulance type is characteristic of safe and luxurious transport, to and fro between hospital and residence.
Has the basic amenities for patient care including stretcher, other medical specific can be integrated by the hospital.
In particular, the 4x4 version is the work-horse for off-road ambulance deployment requiring high ground clearance for expedient critical patient transport when every second translates to life-saving. The 4x4 version, initially introduced in the 1950's as an answer towards prevailing competition in the Far East from Jeep and Land Rover vehicles, has virtually wiped out competition in these off-road applications. Use of diesel and the associated high torque combines fuel efficiency, power and pragmatism of fuel availability in some developing countries. Both patients and their medical staff (often also local police force) have come to rely on its proven capabilities, e.g. tropical and mountainous environments including extreme cold temperatures as is common in Siberia.
